Associate Attorney

Witte Law Office is hiring a full-time associate attorney. Must be highly motivated to work in the area of general practice, including both transactional law and estate planning.

Glen D. Witte, PC, L.L.O., also known as Witte Law Office, is seeking a highly motivated associate attorney to join our firm to work in the area of
general practice, including both transactional law and estate planning. Ideally, the candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience. If the
successful candidate is a recent graduate, a potential clerking position would be available pending passage of the Nebraska State Bar Exam. The Attorney will meet with clients and with potential clients. The Attorney would discuss and if beneficial, prepare documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of
attorney. This role carries a great deal of responsibility and seeks to eliminate questions regarding how an estate should be managed. Additionally, a
successful candidate should be personable and enjoy meeting clients and prospective clients. The successful candidate should have excellent legal research, writing and client counseling skills.

Estate Planning Attorney Overview

An estate planning attorney advises clients on issues related to how wealth and property are dispersed upon someone’s death. The primary responsibility of the estate planning attorney is to consult with clients to determine their wishes and prepare required documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives. Legal aspects of estate planning may include knowledge of family law, taxation law, inheritance law, as well as concerns of community property, joint ownership, and charitable contributions.

Estate Planning Attorney Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
  • Prepare wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents
  • Provide clients with information about retirement plans, charitable contributions, and insurance choices
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
  • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
